Cristina Bentin, CMA, CCS-P, COC, CPPM, AAPC Fellow is the founder and president of Coding Compliance Management, LLC, a healthcare consulting company specializing in the markets of ambulatory surgery centers with emphasis on business office and clinical operations assessments, coding support, reimbursement and training. Ms. Bentin is nationally recognized as a leading freestanding ASC revenue cycle educator, speaker, and writer with over 25+ years of hands-on experience in ASC multi-specialty facility and/or physician office operations. Ms. Bentin is a certified by and a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), certified by and a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as well as an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM Trainer, certified by and a member of the National Association of Health Professionals. Cristina currently serves on the education and programs committee for the ASC Association (ASCA).
Prior to establishing Coding Compliance Management, LLC, Cristina was CFO of a surgical hospital (GBRSH-USPI) and participated in its start-up and development. She was also formerly the Director of Education for a medical consulting firm in which she was responsible for educational ASC coding conferences and audit processes. In addition, Cristina has had extensive experience as the education and training manager for a national healthcare corporation, and was directly involved in the continued education of its 200 + ASC facilities and coders nationwide ensuring OIG, Medicare and state requirements were met. Cristina’s expertise extends to her involvement in fraud investigations. She enjoys developing and providing educational seminars to meet the needs of ASC facilities. Cristina’s coding lectures and conferences include groups such as Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association, Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA), Ambulatory Surgery Foundation, The New York ASC Association, The Florida ASC Association, The California ASC Association, The Tennessee ASC Association, The Wisconsin ASC Association, The Nevada ASC Association, The Coding Institute, The American Health Information Management Association, The American Academy of Professional Coders, and OR Excellence. She frequently contributes trade articles to Becker’s ASC Review, Outpatient Surgery Magazine, and The ASC Focus.
Lydia B. Blalock, Ph.D. is CCM’s Director of Sales & Marketing. Lydia’s educational background includes three (3) degrees from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, culminating with Ph.D. in Human Ecology.
Lydia has worked with three (3) major universities in the last 20+ years, and has earned various honors and awards for teaching and not-for-profit program development. She has authored numerous scholarly publications, and has presented extensively at national conferences. As a university educator in the field of Human Services Management, she used innovative techniques to expose students to basic marketing concepts needed to operate effectively in the not-for-profit arena.
Lydia has used her understanding of marketing and business development to assist in the creation of not-for-profit programs in two (2) states. Her best-known achievement, however, was development of Evaluation-Based Program Development (EBPD), a cutting edge training series for not-for-profit organizations that emphasizes the use of outcomes, process objectives and benchmarks in the program development phase. Her EBPD trainings have helped countless individuals and groups throughout the nation achieve their programming goals.
Rebecca B. Maum, is CCM’s Director of Human Resources. Rebecca’s extensive experience with employment and personnel related issues, as well as office managerial experience has proven to be a great asset to the smooth operations of CCM!
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rebecca graduated from LSU in 1984 with a BA in history. Rebecca earned her paralegal certification from the LSU Paralegal Studies Program in 2000 and is a commissioned Louisiana Civilian Notary Public since 2005. She is a certified Signing Agent. She is the past president of the Baton Rouge Paralegal Association, 2003-2004 and the past president of the Louisiana State Paralegal Association, serving two terms: 2005-2006 and 2008-2009.
